About Mary Read
Mary Read makes dark, atmospheric music centered around accordion, vocals, storytelling and percussion. They take inspiration from neofolk, traditional Swedish fiddle tunes, progressive rock and many other genres.
In 2019, Mary Read toured Sweden and Germany with their project Dunsany Dreaming, combining poems by the early 20th century author Lord Dunsany with original compositions and Swedish folk melodies.
They can be heard as guest artists on the upcoming album of Rozalind MacPhail, a Canadian flutist and electroacoustic performer, nominated for ECMA’s “electronic recording of the year” 2019.
